I’ve been pretty sick, you guys – had some vertigo that kept me from doing pretty much anything, and my (brand new) fiance ruptured his calf muscle the same week. We were in a pretty good mess for a while there.
BUT we’re both doing better now, and while I still haven’t been back into the studio, I did find some photos on my camera of the last pieces I completed before the madness hit.

I am simply in love with even the common beach glass once it’s been oiled. Here are some photos of the last batch I did up for the gallery season opening a month ago.

That red is pretty spectacular, isn’t it? And check out the turquoise! Such gorgeous colour.
Oh hey, my workbench! Well, part of it. This is the NOT messy part, believe it or not… that’s basically every piece of beach glass I own, out to be oiled in a fanatical spree I had one weekend:

I’ve been in the garden instead of the studio… well, what’s meant to become a garden, that is. I’m planning to get back in the studio next week though, so hopefully my postings will be back up in volume. I was really enjoying the ease of having my photo studio directly next to my workbench next to my computer, because posting photos of new work is just so simple now. It was frustrating not to be able to do much of anything. But I’m back, baby!

A studio I can work in without clutter, and the space to lay out and work on 100 pairs of earrings all at once? With room for my computer, DVDs, and even more working space?
Surely, I’ve died and this is heaven.
Here’s a sneak peek at the jewellery/craft studio we’ve been building in the house we bought in June. It took a little while to get started but it’s been going pretty quickly once we did. I thought you might like to see the future space where the magical jewellery fairies come by to make all the pretty shiny things you lovely folks like to buy. I’ll do a full post after it’s completed – which will be soon!

I recently received shipment of these amazing lampworked beads:

They’re gorgeous! I did this with some of them:

Laird has my photo studio so the lighting isn’t the best here. Also I’m lazy.
The large pendant in the middle on the neckwire is all mine. The rest are pendants I’ll be selling in order to pay for the beads! Lampwork: gorgeous artisan work that’s not cheap but totally worth it!
Speaking of lamps (well, sort of), I found an amazing daylight lamp for extremely cheap (less expensive than the lightbulb that’s in it!) yesterday, and it’s making working at night soooo much easier:

And hey… is that a CLEAN workbench? Why yes, yes it is! Thank you for noticing!
Also new are the rings that have been selling like CRAZY at the two gallery shops my work is honoured to be a part of:

No two alike, just like fingerprints! Or renaissance masterpieces! I’ve made nearly 150 of these in the past couple of months, and I expect to be making more. And no, I can’t make a custom one – custom work takes at least three times as long as working on my own, and I have a full-time job so I just can’t keep up to commissions. But there are many options available! I’ll post available sizes and colours when I get a chance.
That’s the update for the summer! Busy busy bee over here!
Don’t you just love getting a look at other people’s workspaces?
Here’s mine!
